openings on Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday.  In  Maplewood, I have openings
on Tuesdays and by appointment on other
days.  Evening hours are available at each
office.

sessions for homebound persons or for
behavior therapy, especially for obsessive-
compulsive disorder and phobias.

LAURIE FURMAN, MS, MSW, LCSW, (314) 830-9240,  has been working with children,
adolescents, and their families for 17 years. She specializes in issues of abuse, incest/rape,
mood disorders, parent/child problems, relationship problems, marital conflict, divorce and
extended family issues. Laurie consults with schools and institutions that serve children and
has provided parent-training workshops and group therapy for children and adolescents.
Laurie has an M.S. degree from Vanderbilt University in developmental psychology in
addition to her M.S.W. degree with a specialization in family therapy from Washington
University. Laurie focuses on improving relationships to strengthen families. Laurie has
practices in 2 locations: here at 423 Chez Paree, and one in Wildwood.

MARY Hall, LPC,  (314) 837-2050, received Psychology training in Chicago and Kansas
City, and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1985.   She specializes in
aggressive behavior, depression and grief in children; separation and divorce mediation;
stress reduction and meditation; using forgiveness as a therapeutic tool; and ADD/ADHD in
children and adults. Mary also provides marital and pre-marital counseling, and work with
women’s issues.
Mary helps with oppositional behaviors in children, conflict and communication issues, and
developing effective parenting techniques, including behavior modification.  Mary has been in
demand for staff training for clinicians, educators and child care workers to help them deal
more effectively with aggressive and abused children.

STEPHANIE AFSHARI, LPC. (314) 837-2050, has been a Licensed Professional
Counselor for 6 years. A University of Missouri- St. Louis post-graduate, her educational
emphasis was in the field of Marriage and Family therapy. She completed her training in
1999 with Dr. Jim Russell, a well-known and respected specialist in the field of Learning
Disorders. She has recently moved on from Catholic Family Counseling where she served as
a therapist for 6 years. Stephanie works with both individual and relational issues, including
addictions, learning and behavior issues, family and relational discord.
