WHEN SHOULD I SEEK PSYCHOTHERAPY?

It’s an individual decision.  Some people never consider asking for help.
Sometimes we just sweep our problems under the rug and go on with life.  Of
course, some people never need to see a therapist because they have
learned how to deal with life problems and turmoil and have adequate support
from others to weather the storms of life.

Others may be trying to manage a serious mental illness or psychological
problem, and psychotherapy provides the only way.

Others may find
enough help from tools like prayer, meditation, yoga,
guided imagery, exercise, support groups and medication.

When in doubt about talking to a professional  psychotherapist or
counselor, don't hesitate to call or email me.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A THERAPIST.

Most people want a therapist who is trained, licensed and has
experience helping with their particular problems.

They want a therapist who is likable, pleasant and, most of all, a
good listener
.

The therapist should be positive and skilled in helping the client
identify his or her personal strengths, skills and positive traits.

The therapist should have a
good sense of humor, but be
understanding and sensitive
to all the problems the client
presents.

Here is a list of problems for which you might seek psychotherapy ;
